I'm New

Explore the Creek

When we come together as a community to worship, we engage in a meaningful conversation with God. We gather with the hope of both hearing His voice and having the chance to respond. This interaction not only shapes our identities to be more like His but also allows us to express our hearts back to Him.

At PCC our worship services are not just focused on singing. It is not just focused on “singing”. Our typical
Sunday services feature prayer, Scripture readings, singing, teaching, giving, and
Communion—celebrated on the first Sunday of each month.

We warmly invite you to be part of our worship during our Sunday Service. In our weekly worship service, we hope that everyone will encounter the living God, praise Him for who He is, experience transformation, and be inspired to fulfill His mission in the world.

What to Expect

When you join us for worship, here’s what you can look forward to:

  • Services last about an hour and fifteen minutes, but we encourage you to arrive early and stick around afterward. Building connections and fellowship are vital parts of our worship experience! Coming early allows time for children to be checked in for ministry and a moment to grab a free coffee from Creekside Café.

  • Most of our gatherings have an informal atmosphere. A band leads our music, and our teachings focus on practical applications of the Bible in our daily lives. We want to be sure that we are living lives that honour God. Coming together on Sunday morning helps us to do that.

  • Come as you are, ready to listen, and allow God to work in your heart. Our mission is to walk with people into a life-transforming relationship with Jesus. As we gather as the ‘church’ we come for mutual encouragement, support, worship, and service.

Our Worship Service

We want to ensure you feel comfortable with how our services flow. Here’s a brief overview of a typical service structure: Sing | Bible | Action. These elements flow together seamlessly as we focus our hearts on what God wants to teach us. Sing: We begin with a warm greeting and a reminder of who we are as a church. This invites us to worship. This part of the service centers on who God is and what He has done, helping us to understand who we are before a Holy God. This initial part of the service typically includes a greeting/ welcome and one or two songs. We then take a break and hear about important community events that are taking place inside and outside the walls of our church. Being updated in this way is a part of our worship service because worship isn’t just singing. Its everything we do that can glorify God. Worship doesn’t just take place on Sunday morning. It happens all week long for those who are a part of PCC. Children: Our children and youth have an important place in our larger gathering. We highlight what the kids will be learning and invite them to the lower level for a focused learning time on God’s word during the sermon up stairs. We then continue to sing 1 or 2 more songs to help us focus our hearts towards the Word. Bible: Recognizing our separation from God, we turn our focus to Jesus, the Word of God (John 1:1-5). Through His sacrifice and resurrection, we can be reconciled with God. This leads to a time of biblical teaching that encourages us to live according to God’s call in our lives. This portion of our service will include a contextual scripture reading before an application sermon is preached. We aim to be faithful to God’s word and communicate it clearly and practically in everyday life. Action: After reflecting on God’s Word, we’re invited to respond. We spend time in prayer again as a community. We pray for specific needs in our church and our community. We invite those who call PCC their church home to give financially as they feel led. Giving comes out of a tithing concept. At Powers Creek, we love to give! God loves a cheerful giver! On the first Sunday of each month, we also celebrate Communion, using bread and juice to remember Jesus’ sacrifice and renew our commitment to Him as we anticipate His return (1 Cor.11:23-26). We invite all those who have given their life to Jesus to participate with us! Our service then concludes with another song and a benediction. The Benediction aims to summarize what we have just heard and how we need to live in light of it as we head out into the next week!
